Base Salary
$128k - $192k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop new and revise existing embedded firmware across the full software development lifecycle.
- Design, plan, document, and support firmware architectures and software deliverables.
- Program Arm Cortex and 16-bit PIC microcontrollers.
- Implement serial communications using RS485, SPI, I2C, 1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 825, and CAN.
- Develop and support bootloaders, boot protection, image verification, non-volatile memory, and EEPROM emulation.
- Create GitLab pipelines for test automation and apply MISRA-C linting.
- Debug firmware using JTAG, SWD, and other debugging tools and methods.
- Select microcontrollers for new products and support software using LabVIEW, Python, Excel, and MATLAB/Octave.
- Support DO-178 development and certification from design through certification.
- Generate technical deliverables and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent work history.
- 5–7 years of experience.
- Experience with embedded software languages, firmware debugging tools, and firmware test methods.
- Knowledge of DO-178 development and certification processes.
- Experience with Arm Cortex and 16-bit PIC microcontrollers, serial communications, bootloaders, and non-volatile memory.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements including boot protection, image verification, and NVM.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD and MISRA-C linting.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement practices such as Kaizen, 5S, and 6σ.
- Experience with Agile and waterfall development approaches.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, project-management, and organizational skills.
- U.S. citizenship required due to ITAR, CUI, and NOFORN requirements.
