Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and own large-scale distributed services on AWS that deploy operating system versions across Amazon’s device fleet.
- Build telemetry collection and data-processing systems that apply statistical and machine learning models to detect network anomalies.
- Develop test automation frameworks, infrastructure services, test case management, and coverage analysis tooling for large-scale system testing.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and deployment with minimal human intervention.
- Build scalable infrastructure software that validates networking software and hardware with high reliability.
- Measure service quality, prevent customer-impacting faults, troubleshoot platform issues, and support reliable software roll-outs.
- Define technical direction, develop architecture and designs, review code, establish engineering practices, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, Operating System software, Developer Experience, and other AWS teams across the software lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a tech lead, leading an engineering team, or leading system architecture and design.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience building highly scalable systems involving predictive models or machine learning applications.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
- Preferred: experience in systems administration, network administration, or programming with Node.js, Java, Ruby, C#, Python, or PHP.

- The listed base salary varies by location: $168,100–$227,400 in Raleigh or Seattle, and $193,300–$261,500 in Cupertino.
