Responsibilities
- Design, build, and secure APIs exposing core security capabilities to internal teams and platforms.
- Implement API-layer authentication, authorization, logging, rate limiting, and abuse protections.
- Build Python-based automation for security workflows, data ingestion, and response actions.
- Develop integrations, plugins, and middleware connecting security tools, SaaS platforms, and internal services.
- Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
- Improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of security systems through code.
- Produce engineering documentation including runbooks, SDK guidance, and operational references.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and product teams on coding standards, architectural decisions, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Approved participation in the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Ability to commit to a full-time SkillBridge engagement and obtain command approval before the start date.
- Experience writing Python or other automation scripts for operational or security use is a strong fit.
- Experience building or integrating REST APIs, securing applications or platforms, working with CI/CD pipelines, or developing internal tools is valued.
- Relevant backgrounds include cyber operations, defensive cyberspace operations, cyber warfare, software development, automation, platform engineering, or systems engineering with a security focus.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC are valued but not required.
- Equivalent experience matters more than job titles.
