Responsibilities
- Build vehicle drivers for new aerial, ground, and marine platforms within the URZA integration layer.
- Develop sensor, payload, and third-party autonomy adapters and translate vendor data into URZA’s world model.
- Own HITL test plans and integration tests to move new platforms from delivery to URZA-controlled live testing.
- Partner with vehicle OEMs, sensor providers, and autonomy partners on integration design and debugging.
- Build shared libraries and scaffolding to reduce integration time.
- Mentor mid-level Integration Engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working on integrations, drivers, middleware, or robotics software.
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle-control protocols and autopilot software, including MAVLink, ROS or ROS2, and ArduPilot or PX4, with message-level debugging ability.
- Fluency with pub-sub middleware and experience with HITL workflows.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred: experience with autonomous systems or unmanned vehicles, Zenoh or comparable middleware such as DDS and ROS2 RMW, sensor integration involving LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, or GNSS, autonomy algorithms such as planning, controls, perception, or SLAM, and defense, autonomy, or robotics company experience.
- An active security clearance is preferred.
