Responsibilities
- Lead security incident response in a 24/7 global rotation from detection through containment and recovery.
- Create and maintain incident response documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures.
- Conduct post-incident analysis, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned reviews.
- Design and implement automated security processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Identify security gaps and implement advanced detection and response capabilities.
- Collaborate across GitLab teams on security capabilities and technical infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to independently learn and lead incident response processes.
- Experience with SIEM or security logging tools.
- Experience with GCP and/or AWS cloud platforms.
- Python programming skills or a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong interest in technical documentation and proactive investigation of security threats.
- Interest in forensic analysis of infected hosts and cloud-based security investigations.
