Base Salary
$190k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy mission-critical onboard software for Glydways vehicles.
- Develop high-performance interfaces for cameras, radar, LiDAR, IMUs, drive-by-wire, controls, and other vehicle systems.
- Develop and integrate runtimes and middleware for reliable onboard autonomy and ML workloads.
- Improve live track operations software for deployment, vehicle provisioning, logging, and observability.
- Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, and operations teams on interfaces, evaluation pipelines, and fleet features.
- Investigate and debug bench and on-vehicle issues through root cause and stable fixes.
- Shape technical direction through system ownership, design discussions, and code reviews.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and supporting production systems.
- Strong proficiency in C++ or C for production systems and experience navigating existing codebases.
- Experience developing device drivers or low-level sensor and actuator interfaces using hardware-in-the-loop or similar test frameworks.
- Experience developing on resource-constrained embedded hardware.
- Understanding of SPI, UART, CAN, TCP, and UDP communication protocols.
- Experience with Linux, particularly embedded environments such as Yocto or Buildroot.
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ARK, LCM, ROS, or ROS 2.
- Ability to own features end-to-end from requirements clarification through field support.
- Preferred: familiarity with ML inference runtimes and production or edge ML model integration.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source AI, robotics, or embedded frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with automotive, real-time, safety-critical, autonomous vehicle, robotics, or complex mechatronic systems.
- Preferred: embedded CPU/GPU and hardware accelerator performance engineering experience.
- Preferred: experience collaborating with operations and field teams to debug production systems.
