
Lead Software Engineer(Java)
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Lead the design and delivery of Java/Spring Boot microservices, including service boundaries, REST APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
- Own performance tuning, resilience, observability, SLOs, incident response, and root-cause management for production systems.
- Drive AWS cloud-native delivery with containerization, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure-by-default practices.
- Review code, provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards and quality gates.
- Lead adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and responsible data handling.
- Evaluate external vendors, startups, and internal technical proposals for architectural fit and applicability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience delivering Java/Spring Boot microservices and defining APIs, data models, service boundaries, and domain-driven integration patterns.
- Experience with performance tuning, timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, logs, metrics, traces, SLOs, and incident/root-cause management.
- Experience delivering on AWS with CI/CD, containerization, automated unit, integration, and contract testing.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, secrets management, OWASP, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing practices.
- Experience providing technical leadership through code reviews, architectural guidance, mentoring, and engineering standards.
- Experience leading the effective and compliant use of AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Preferred: in-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems and practical cloud-native experience.
