Responsibilities
- Design and implement a production-grade Linux distribution from scratch using Yocto/OpenEmbedded.
- Develop and maintain custom Yocto layers, write and patch BitBake recipes, and configure Linux kernels for specific hardware peripherals.
- Enable robotics sensors and peripherals, including GMSL cameras, GPS/GNSS modules, IMUs, and LiDAR.
- Implement and manage robust, safe, and atomic Over-the-Air update solutions for fleet-wide deployments.
- Bring up new boards with hardware engineers, modify Device Trees, and debug I2C, SPI, CAN, and UART interfaces.
- Profile and optimize boot time, memory footprint, and interrupt latency.
Requirements
- At least two years of industry or research experience.
- Extensive experience building custom Linux distributions with Yocto, including layer management and BitBake recipe development.
- Deep understanding of the Linux kernel, bootloaders, and Linux driver model.
- Proven experience integrating sensors and peripherals, including serial, Ethernet, and camera interfaces.
- Experience generating and maintaining development SDKs.
- Strong proficiency in C++, C, Python, and Bash for system-level programming and build automation.
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Linux for Tegra, and the meta-tegra layer.
- Preferred: experience with Mender, RAUC, or custom A/B partitioning schemes for OTA updates.
- Preferred: knowledge of Secure Boot, LUKS/dm-crypt disk encryption, and TPM integration.
- Preferred: experience with networking configuration and troubleshooting using iptables/nftables, systemd-networkd, bonding, Wireshark, and tcpdump.
- Preferred: experience setting up automated build and test pipelines for embedded hardware using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Kas.
