Base Salary
$139k - $187k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, code, implement, and test software for embedded devices and unmanned aircraft systems.
- Write software supporting the integration of sensors, processors, autopilots, payloads, radios, and other aircraft components.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate embedded software issues.
- Conduct flight testing and develop and perform test procedures to verify embedded system functionality.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and electrical schematics to debug hardware and software.
- Participate in design and peer reviews and maintain software quality through sound configuration-control practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience developing embedded software for real-time systems.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, preferably VxWorks or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency in C/C++ in a real-time embedded environment.
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience with CAN bus, SPI, and serial protocols including RS485.
- Experience writing firmware or embedded code for physical devices and fundamental knowledge of low-level firmware.
- Experience reading electrical hardware schematics and using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for board debugging.
- Experience developing and performing embedded-system tests and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
