Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end regression automation for APIs, microservices, and distributed backend services.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows, including pre-merge and post-merge execution, environment readiness checks, and test data management.
  • Improve testing accuracy, reliability, runtime, and signal-to-noise by reducing flaky and nondeterministic tests.
  • Generate and publish standardized test reports, trend views, and actionable quality feedback.
  • Investigate failures across services and infrastructure, distinguish product defects from test or environment issues, and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Partner with Software Engineering, SRE/DevOps, Security, and Product teams on quality reports, quality gates, release criteria, and automation standards.
  • Document test plans, scripts, and results and advise teams on testing practices, frameworks, techniques, and processes.
  • Create and manage structured test cases covering product requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience working on or with a software engineering team.
  • At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining automated tests for web applications and distributed systems.
  • Experience with end-to-end and API test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, and TestNG.
  • Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitLab CI using Git-based workflows.
  • Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL handshakes, certificate management, status codes, and headers.
  • Proficiency writing SQL queries to validate data persistence in relational databases such as Oracle.
  • Expertise with JSON payloads and JSON Schema validation for data contract integrity.
  • Understanding of SDLC, Shift-Left Quality Engineering, TDD, and DDT practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, written reporting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in test creation and management using tools such as Jira Xray or TestRail.
  • Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Prometheus, Grafana, contract testing, service virtualization, distributed-system integration testing, quality dashboards, performance testing, load testing, resiliency testing, security testing, and Java, Python, Go, or Rust.
