Responsibilities
- Own the realtime voice channel, including telephony and CPaaS integrations, streaming speech pipelines, model orchestration, and latency and quality budgets.
- Build product features across React and TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python backend services, and GCP infrastructure.
- Design multi-tenant systems that serve multiple partners through configuration rather than code forks.
- Build safety and compliance capabilities, including guardrails, content filtering, and PII redaction integration points.
- Maintain revenue-critical deployments through observability, alerting, incident response, rollback planning, and SLA performance.
- Build platform capabilities used by forward-deployed engineers for partner telephony integrations and go-lives.
- Contribute to code reviews and architecture reviews and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with senior-level ownership of production systems and genuine full-stack range.
- Hands-on realtime systems experience, such as voice applications, WebRTC, SIP, streaming media, or comparable low-latency products.
- Strong React and TypeScript skills, backend depth in Scala or another JVM language and/or Python, and cloud infrastructure experience on GCP or AWS.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools and the judgment to review, correct, and own shipped work.
- Experience with SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, and rollback plans.
- Strong problem-solving, pragmatic decision-making, iterative delivery, and communication across product, design, and operations.
- Conversational AI or LLM orchestration experience, including Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Whisper, or OpenAI Realtime, is a bonus.
- Working knowledge of Twilio, Amazon Connect, Genesys, or LiveKit is a bonus.
- Experience with customer service, CRM, contact center, workflow automation, or travel technologies such as PSS/GDS and hotel PMS/CRS is a plus.
