Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance web applications that provide direct and measurable value to users.
- Build reliable and scalable software solutions with guidance from senior engineers and architects.
- Translate requirements into high-quality, reusable, testable, and efficient code.
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve software quality.
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, security teams, architects, end-users, business staff, and engineers to evaluate options and deliver solutions.
- Contribute to software engineering practices, knowledge sharing, tools, technology evolution, and standards.
- Investigate and resolve system issues with end-users and business staff.
- Evaluate new technologies and techniques and integrate open source technologies into platforms and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis, or a related field, or equivalent training/experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or equivalent hands-on development experience.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript for Node.js web applications, with frameworks such as Express, Angular, or React.
- Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including Apollo.
- Understanding of modern system architecture patterns and data management principles.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of source control, continuous integration, Agile software development practices, and automated testing.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools for design, coding, testing, or documentation.
- Basic understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines and tools, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end automated testing.
- ETL tools, data integration patterns, data flows between databases, APIs and applications, mobile application development, and cloud, AI, or relevant open source technology certifications are advantageous.
