Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, implementation, and evolution of a major Robotics Cloud service or platform component.
- Drive projects end to end from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, launch, production operations, and continuous improvement.
- Build scalable cloud-native services for robot onboarding and identity, fleet management, mission orchestration, telemetry, digital twins, simulation, AI-powered robotics, and software lifecycle management.
- Define secure APIs, service contracts, SDKs, and edge interfaces for integrating robots from multiple vendors.
- Develop AI-assisted, spec-driven robot onboarding capabilities, including integration specifications, reusable adapters, SDKs, validation, and developer workflows.
- Connect simulation, robot telemetry, evaluation, deployment, and learning feedback loops.
- Enable integration with VLM, VLA, multimodal, embodied AI, and agentic robotics systems.
- Lead cross-functional execution with product, robotics, AI, cloud infrastructure, security, and partner engineering teams.
- Lead technical designs, architecture reviews, code reviews, debugging, production readiness, and technical issue resolution.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to Robotics Cloud architecture and engineering standards.
- Apply AI-native engineering practices across design, implementation, testing, debugging, evaluation, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of software development experience building backend services, distributed systems, cloud platforms, or related production systems.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and container orchestration.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable production software.
- Ability to independently own complex technical projects from architecture and design through production delivery.
- Strong software architecture, design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience driving technical execution across multiple teams or functional areas.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include an MS in Computer Science, Robotics, AI/ML, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes ROS 2, DDS, MQTT, OPC UA, VDA5050, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Gazebo, Webots, simulation-based development and testing, VLM/VLA and multimodal models, embodied or agentic robotics, robotics AI/ML, reinforcement or imitation learning, continual learning, online adaptation, sim-to-real techniques, edge systems, OTA deployment, workload identity, zero-trust architectures, APIs, SDKs, service contracts, adapter frameworks, and AI-native engineering practices.
