Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to define automation coverage.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated functional and regression tests for web and API layers using Playwright.
- Build reusable test components, data builders, utilities, and automation framework improvements.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor execution, failures, logs, coverage, and quality indicators.
- Investigate defects and test failures, document defects clearly, and verify fixes and regression coverage.
- Own quality coverage for selected features, modules, or workflows across releases.
- Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Manual QA colleagues on testability and test strategy.
- Evaluate testing tools and approaches, document automation standards, and promote maintainable engineering practices.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and contribute to automation communities of practice.
Requirements
- Experience in software testing or quality assurance with a focus on test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, including page object models, fixtures, API testing, and parallel execution.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for writing clean, reusable Playwright test code.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and using version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA responsibilities within development teams.
- Ability to translate requirements into robust automated test scenarios and analyze test results.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and a test case management tool.
- Clear written and spoken English, strong communication skills, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Preferred: experience scaling Playwright frameworks across large multi-team environments.
- Preferred: experience with Playwright API testing, Postman, contract testing, SQL, databases, k6, Gatling, and mentoring junior automation engineers.
