Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance backend services and APIs using NodeJS.
- Design and set up NoSQL databases and search indexes for end-to-end API flows.
- Solve complex technical challenges involving scale and performance.
- Deliver features that support revenue growth for eCommerce experiences including cart and checkout.
- Mentor engineering peers and uphold high standards for code quality and development practices.
- Champion modern, maintainable infrastructure aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs based on cost, risk, and effort while considering customer impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in API development.
- Expert programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and NodeJS.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB, and search technologies such as OpenSearch and graph databases.
- Familiarity with API standards and frameworks and the ability to learn new backend technologies.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing decision-makers across the organization.
- Preferred qualifications include substantial experience with AI/LLM-driven use cases and coding AI tools such as Copilot or Windsurf.
- Strong problem-solving, written and spoken communication, and distributed-team collaboration skills.
