Base Salary
$459k - $536k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and lead complex initiatives across the plugin ecosystem.
- Design and ship APIs, SDKs, and services that developers use to extend ChatGPT and Codex.
- Build experiences for discovering, installing, creating, testing, publishing, updating, and sharing plugins.
- Improve model plugin selection, task completion, plugin reliability, error handling, and recovery paths.
- Develop permissions, approvals, and administrative controls for plugin adoption.
- Partner with Product, Design, Research, Security, Trust & Safety, developers, and partners.
- Mentor engineers, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building and shipping products or platforms relied on by people or developers.
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives across teams and influencing product and design decisions.
- Strong API and abstraction design judgment with the ability to explain tradeoffs.
- Experience with identity, permissions, or integration-heavy systems is especially valuable.
- Ability to work across web interfaces and backend systems and take ambiguous problems through production.
- Experience with applied AI systems, model–tool interactions, and reliability or quality measurement is especially valuable.
- Experience building APIs, SDKs, developer platforms, open-source projects, or internal tools with real users.
