Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services using Java/Spring Boot and Python with microservices and RESTful API architectures.
- Build data access layers with Hibernate ORM and optimize PostgreSQL and SQL Server queries.
- Develop responsive frontend applications with Angular.
- Integrate AWS and third-party AI/ML services, including AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes, including EKS and GKE.
- Deploy and maintain applications across AWS and GCP cloud environments.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as AWS Kiro and Claude Code.
- Own features through design, implementation, validation, and production deployment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions and collaborative development workflows.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java and/or Python.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade enterprise applications from design through deployment.
- Deep knowledge of the Spring framework, including Core, Boot, MVC, Data, and Security, and Hibernate ORM.
- Strong command of SQL and relational database design with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins and with modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
- Experience with debugging, profiling, performance optimization, and automated testing.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Bonus experience integrating AI/ML services or working with Angular for full-stack development.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions.
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement abilities.
