Base Salary
$176k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build test infrastructure including harnesses, fixtures, runners, orchestration, and test artifact management for the ZMQ and Cap'n Proto middleware stack.
- Build simulation infrastructure for deterministic playback and testing autonomy software against virtual real-world scenarios.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering unit, integration, simulation, and replay-based regression testing.
- Create infrastructure that converts production logs into reproducible test cases for QA curation and developer execution.
- Build cloud-based parallel simulation and test execution systems.
- Develop dashboards that surface flaky tests, slow tests, and coverage gaps.
- Debug and optimize failures across simulation, networking, serialization, and CI infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with significant work in testing infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed systems.
- Strong Python programming experience and ability to write substantial production-adjacent infrastructure code.
- Experience designing and building automation pipelines, test orchestration, or build systems.
- Deep familiarity with at least one large-scale software platform and comfort with APIs, abstractions, and platform usability.
- Excellent debugging and systems-thinking skills.
- Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other safety-critical systems is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Gazebo, CARLA, Isaac Sim, or proprietary simulation environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with ZMQ, ROS, DDS, Cap'n Proto, or Protobuf is preferred.
- C++ familiarity sufficient to read and integrate with an autonomy stack is preferred.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, real-time systems, or performance engineering is preferred.
