Responsibilities
- Advocate for the customer experience throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design comprehensive test strategies for complex product features and platform services.
- Identify risks early and raise quality concerns before issues reach production.
- Write and maintain high-quality test cases covering real-world usage scenarios.
- Perform root cause analysis and clearly communicate the impact of defects.
- Validate APIs, integrations, and distributed services.
- Test data pipelines, system workflows, and multi-step product flows.
- Ensure correctness of integrations with third-party systems and internal services.
- Validate data integrity across relational systems and application workflows.
- Test security-sensitive functionality such as permissions and access control.
- Evaluate system performance, reliability, and edge-case behavior.
- Help define and improve quality engineering standards and processes.
- Collaborate with developers and automation engineers to identify high-value automation opportunities.
- Contribute to test automation strategies across smoke, regression, and release validation.
- Track and report on quality metrics and help reduce production defects.
- Mentor and support junior quality engineers.
- Participate in design discussions to improve testability and reliability.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in quality practices for complex SaaS systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience in software quality engineering.
- Experience testing complex SaaS applications or distributed systems.
- Strong experience with API testing (REST, webhooks, or similar).
- Strong SQL skills for validating data and system state.
- Experience testing integrations, workflows, or data pipelines.
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or similar).
- Proficiency with Linux and command-line tools for debugging and log analysis.
- Familiarity with Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Qase, or similar).
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
