Responsibilities
- Lead complex, high-impact projects from proposal through execution and post-mortem.
- Own the maintenance and ongoing improvement of major privacy technology components.
- Design systems that improve search indexes and AI features without compromising user privacy.
- Build features on the Tracker Radar crawler to detect emerging privacy threats.
- Implement and maintain web tracking and email protection features.
- Participate in privacy reviews and audits of product developments.
- Mentor other engineers and support the growth of the Privacy Team over time.
Requirements
- Experience engineering privacy solutions such as tracker blockers, differential privacy, or similar technologies.
- Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and existing approaches for protecting against them.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl.
- Ability to lead and collaborate on complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
- Ability to address ambiguous problems, develop innovative solutions, and execute effectively with appropriate collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
