Responsibilities
- Lead broad-scope initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities from Verkada’s software and infrastructure.
- Build tools, libraries, automation, and frameworks that help software engineers implement security correctly.
- Leverage AI to automate security engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and execute security goals, priorities, and processes.
- Work with the CISO and security team to expand Verkada’s security and privacy programs.
- Share security expertise through conferences, presentations, blogs, and open source.
- Write code every day across a variety of technology stacks.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer who has worked on security problems.
- Interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations, including the ability to break things.
- Experience leveraging AI while building software.
- Excellent collaboration skills and outstanding written and verbal communication.
- Master’s or PhD in security is a bonus.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
