Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and roadmap of the internal Agents Platform.
- Design and build tool calling, multi-step agent loops, conversational execution, and secure access to internal data and services.
- Develop evaluation, labeling, comparison, and regression-testing systems for non-deterministic AI systems.
- Improve reliability, security, observability, authorization, cost attribution, asynchronous execution, and incident response for business-critical systems.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to launch and scale AI agents.
- Drive platform adoption through clear contracts, paved roads, documentation, and AI-native developer workflows.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating reliable production backend systems.
- Hands-on daily experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Production experience shipping LLM-powered systems, including model orchestration, structured outputs, and ongoing quality evaluation.
- Experience with distributed and asynchronous systems, including retries, idempotency, backpressure, and observability.
- Experience building shared infrastructure, developer tooling, or paved roads adopted by other engineers.
- Experience with on-call, incident response, and end-to-end system ownership.
- Strong written and verbal communication, prioritization judgment, and English proficiency.
- Preferred experience includes eval frameworks, LLM gateways, agent platforms, Temporal or another durable workflow engine, service or agent authorization, tool use, MCP, retrieval, agentic loops, ML engineering, MLOps, data infrastructure, fintech, or regulated environments.
