Base Salary
$94k - $151k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and deploy web applications such as CNN Underscored.
- Create customer-facing products and testing artifacts for the CNN Digital Commerce vertical.
- Develop tooling to support substantial growth of the CNN Commerce business.
- Contribute to medium- and large-scale mission-critical, highly available production systems.
- Monitor code health, infrastructure health, and application performance.
- Evaluate newer technologies and concepts related to software development best practices and operational excellence.
- Clearly articulate complex technical concepts and information.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience focused on application development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and at least one of React, Vue, or Angular.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Experience with Fastly, AWS, Serverless Application Model (SAM), CloudFormation, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
- Hands-on familiarity with both client-side and server-side technologies and a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience building medium- to large-scale mission-critical, highly available production systems.
- Preferred experience in e-commerce, affiliate platforms, and consumer media.
- Preferred experience with non-procedural programming or professional application of functional-style concepts.
- Two years of object-oriented JavaScript experience is a plus.
- Experience working on Scrum or Kanban teams and familiarity with related project-management tools is preferred.
