Base Salary

$94k - $151k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy customer-facing web applications such as CNN Underscored.
  • Create testing artifacts and development tooling to support growth of the CNN Commerce vertical.
  • Work hands-on with both client-side and server-side technologies.
  • Build and support medium- to large-scale, mission-critical, highly available production systems.
  • Monitor code health, infrastructure health, and application performance.
  • Evaluate and learn newer technologies and concepts related to software development best practices and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience focused on application development.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Working knowledge of Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
  • Experience with Fastly, AWS, Serverless/SAM, CloudFormation, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Understanding of common software data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience building highly available production systems and articulating complex technical concepts.
  • Preferred experience in e-commerce, affiliate platforms, consumer media, functional-style programming, and object-oriented JavaScript.
  • Experience with Scrum or Kanban teams and related project-management tools is preferred.
