Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning and optimization solutions for rider pricing, discounts, promotion targeting, and personalized messaging.
- Build and scale real-time and offline models and systems for promotions and rider pricing.
- Apply deep learning, generative AI for causal modeling, representation learning, and personalization to pricing optimization.
- Collaborate with product, science, product operations, and other cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Set technical direction for ML, serving, and optimization system components.
- Own and deliver technically challenging multi-quarter projects end to end.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of full-time engineering experience and 2+ years of experience building ML models.
- Experience working with multiple cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Experience with big-data architecture, ETL frameworks, and platforms.
- Solid understanding of current machine learning technologies and libraries.
- Preferred: experience designing and architecting ML systems and workflows.
- Preferred: experience building production algorithmic solutions and balancing sophistication, compute complexity, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Preferred: experience translating ambiguous business problems into ML and optimization formulations.
- Preferred: experience optimizing Spark queries for CPU and memory efficiency.
Benefits
- Base salary is listed as $171,000-$190,000 per year for New York City, San Francisco, and Sunnyvale roles.
- Eligible full-time employees may participate in Uber’s bonus program and may receive equity awards and other compensation.
