Base Salary
$120k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and enhancement of Mercury mobile applications using React Native for iOS and Android.
- Design and implement secure voice calling and real-time communications capabilities, including call signaling, session lifecycle, audio routing, connectivity changes, permissions, notifications, and background behavior.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend systems and real-time communications services using REST APIs, WebSockets, SignalR, and voice communication technologies.
- Apply HIPAA-aligned security practices and support design controls, requirements traceability, verification, and validation documentation.
- Collaborate with backend, web, UX, QA, cybersecurity, regulatory, and product stakeholders.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, lead technical designs and architecture reviews, and improve mobile engineering quality.
- Support production readiness, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in live healthcare environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant mobile application development experience.
- Proficiency with React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
- Strong experience developing for both iOS and Android and integrating mobile applications with backend systems using REST APIs and real-time communication technologies.
- Experience with mobile voice calling, VoIP, WebRTC, or comparable real-time communications functionality.
- Experience with mobile audio behavior, call state management, operating-system permissions, push notifications, and background execution.
- Experience working in regulated environments, preferably healthcare or life sciences.
- Proficiency with GitHub and PostgreSQL at the application consumption or interaction layer.
- Preferred experience with WebRTC, SIP, VoIP, media sessions, call signaling, voice gateway integrations, secure communication or clinical communication applications, and native iOS and Android audio, telephony, push notification, and background-processing APIs.
- Preferred experience troubleshooting voice quality, connectivity, latency, reconnection, and device compatibility issues; managing mobile deployment and releases; understanding healthcare workflows or medical-device integrations; collaborating with UX using Figma; and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
