Responsibilities
- Design and implement planet-scale distributed data platforms and services.
- Collaborate with application development teams to build data flows and develop data models.
- Translate business requirements into effective data models.
- Analyze data system integration challenges and propose optimized solutions.
- Research new tools and methodologies for data analysis.
- Guide other developers in implementing data models and building high throughput data access services.
- Provide technical leadership throughout project phases.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in designing and coding scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts.
- Experience in building big data pipelines managing petabytes of data.
- Proficiency in big data analytics.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Go, C++, and/or Rust.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and network security.
- Experience with open-source technologies like Kafka, Redis, and Clickhouse.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bonus for contributions to the open source community.
- BSCS or equivalent required; MSCS or equivalent preferred.
