Responsibilities
- Develop Spring Boot and Java APIs and microservices on Google Cloud Platform using services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Design and evolve cloud-native services and operational data capabilities supporting analytics and AI tools.
- Establish engineering best practices, architectural standards, code reviews, reusable frameworks, and reusable components.
- Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and SLIs for system performance, reliability, and availability.
- Lead performance engineering, including bottleneck identification, capacity planning, performance baselines, benchmarks, and API load and performance testing.
- Deliver software using test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and team members to define solutions and production-ready user stories.
- Use DevOps and deployment tools to deploy, improve, and manage software.
- Support ETL processes, multi-tier data models, data quality monitoring, third-party data evaluation, and intelligence layers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience with GCP, Cloud Run, Spring Boot, and Java.
- Experience launching large-scale global APIs using cloud technologies such as Azure and GCP.
- Experience with API publication and Swagger documentation in Apigee and APIM.
- Experience using Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, and GitHub.
- Experience with Python, Google Cloud Platform or comparable platforms, Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Apigee, GCP Logging, Terraform, Cloud Build, and Tekton is preferred.
- Experience with Agile software engineering practices and related development practices is preferred.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with an inquisitive and proactive approach to learning new tools and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment where problems may be poorly defined.
