Base Salary

$96k - $154k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on performance engineering initiatives across software applications and services.
  • Identify performance risks early and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish performance engineering standards, frameworks, best practices, and a performance-by-design culture.
  • Build workload models for normal, peak, stress, spike, and endurance scenarios.
  • Develop reusable Gatling test frameworks, libraries, automation, scripts, and tooling.
  • Analyze Gatling reports and metrics for latency, throughput, error-rate, and resource-utilization issues.
  • Define performance objectives, SLAs, response-time targets, throughput requirements, and capacity expectations.
  • Partner with development, architecture, DevOps, and Product teams to deliver scalable and reliable applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience building performance automation frameworks and reusable testing utilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Gatling, Node.js, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript for complex performance test simulations.
  • Proficiency with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience analyzing application behavior under load and identifying performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience defining performance objectives, service-level expectations, and capacity requirements.
  • Strong collaboration, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
