Base Salary
$245k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own production RL environments and MCP tools end to end for frontier-lab post-training workflows.
- Scope research goals with requesters, translate them into buildable specifications, and identify requirements that will not produce useful training signal.
- Build images and tools, write graders, deploy environments to customer platforms, and maintain them in production.
- Investigate failed tasks and jobs, lead responses when delivery pipelines degrade, and drive incidents to root cause.
- Improve platform leverage through automated image builds, release notes, spec-first design, CI gates, and review harnesses.
- Identify platform gaps and communicate them to the product roadmap.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building production systems.
- Production experience with Python or TypeScript; strong functional-language experience is also considered.
- Experience building and shipping containerized services, including Docker layering, dependency pinning, and reproducible images.
- Fluent use of coding agents with the judgment to review and catch incorrect output.
- Experience owning production systems, investigating incidents to root cause, and documenting preventive fixes.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containers, managed databases, and deployment paths on AWS or another major cloud.
- Based in the US and able to get to the Bay Area as needed.
