Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end quality processes that embed full test automation within software engineering teams.
- Build, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks and functional test suites for native mobile, web, and API applications.
- Develop mobile testing strategies and promote best practices involving test pyramids, release management, SDLC practices, and Definition of Done.
- Own quality outcomes and metrics including test coverage, automation levels, change failure rate, and pipeline stability.
- Monitor and optimize CI/CD pipelines, test environments, and test automation tools while balancing reliability, coverage, and developer productivity.
- Explore and implement AI/ML-driven testing tools and techniques to improve test efficiency and defect detection.
- Mentor engineers and project leads and foster shared ownership of quality without separate QA teams.
- Create and maintain test data and manage vendor relationships for testing tools and services.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional SDET experience focused on writing code for test automation.
- Proven experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for native iOS and native Android applications; web and API experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-driven testing tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines, test automation tools and frameworks, feature-toggle management tools, and test environments.
- Experience working on engineering teams that own and implement their own quality practices.
- Strong software engineering background or exposure, including the ability to read, write, and debug unit, integration, and end-to-end test code.
- Expertise maintaining and optimizing automated functional test suites.
- Strategic thinking, communication skills, technical leadership, collaboration, mentoring ability, and a test-first development mindset.
