Offensive Security Engineer

Responsibilities
- Execute challenging offensive security projects for professional services and managed security customers.
- Develop custom methodologies, payloads, exploits, and tools when off-the-shelf solutions are insufficient.
- Identify vulnerability trends and translate them into improvements bridging security services and products.
- Develop new Chariot capabilities based on vulnerabilities discovered during security projects.
- Deliver findings across red team operations, application security assessments, and cloud security reviews.
- Produce clear, actionable reports for technical and executive audiences and support remediation.
- Integrate AI tooling into reconnaissance and payload-development workflows.
- Contribute research, blog posts, conference presentations, and team learning.
- Mentor junior engineers and help raise the team’s technical capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- 0–2 years of experience or relevant internships in cybersecurity, startups, or high-tech environments.
- Experience writing software or scripts in Go, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Early experience or demonstrated interest in product security, cloud security, web or network penetration testing, red teaming, or IoT/embedded security.
- Notable achievements in CTFs or testing platforms such as Hack The Box, TryHackMe, or PortSwigger.
- Preferred contributions to vulnerability research, exploit development, or open-source offensive security projects.
- AI prompt engineering familiarity for tool or payload generation is a strong plus.
- Holding or pursuing certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, PNPT, BSCP, OSWE, or relevant cloud certifications.
