Base Salary

$330k - $375k/yr

Responsibilities

Own a technical domain end to end, including architecture, system design, implementation, and outcomes.
Write code, ship systems, review work, and set the technical standard across the domain’s pods.
Steer and unblock engineers and leads while growing the domain’s technical capability without becoming a pure manager.
Partner with the Domain PM as an equal on domain delivery and impact.
Drive an AI-native engineering workflow using frontier models and tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
Participate in the weekly council alongside the founders and help shape company-wide technical direction.

Senior-most individual contributor at Staff level or a hands-on technical founder who continues to build.
End-to-end ownership of a critical domain or system at high scale or at a high-velocity Series A–D startup.
Deep technical credibility and experience driving major technical decisions across teams without relying on direct authority.
Current hands-on coding experience, including architecture, implementation, and code review.
Daily use of frontier AI tools and an AI-native development workflow.
Strong systems and reliability instincts with ownership of production systems at scale.
Ability to solve problems from first principles, learn rapidly, and operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment.
BS or BA in Computer Science required; MS or PhD preferred.
Conversational AI, voice AI, agentic systems, fintech, banking, regulated financial services, 0-to-1 platform building, published writing, conference talks, or open-source AI systems work are advantageous.
Must be San Francisco-based and committed to working onsite; H1B transfers are welcome.
