Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity with existing codebase designs and implementations.
- Design and implement security hardening projects for applications, frameworks, libraries, and daemons.
- Adopt memory-safety technologies, deploy mitigations, implement sandboxing or isolation, and refactor software to improve security.
- Update existing codebases or create new codebases to meet security goals.
- Implement projects using appropriate languages such as Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
- Adopt or update unit tests and collaborate with QA engineers on functional testing.
- Document changes and architectural elements and create training materials for partner teams.
- Communicate collaboratively and effectively throughout project phases.
Requirements
- Understand the foundations of a system programming language such as C, C++, Swift, or Rust.
- Understand multithreaded design, resource management, and interactions between application software and operating systems.
- Be able to reason about application-software security and robustness.
- Be able to learn new codebases quickly and adapt to diverse project requirements.
- Have experience implementing software using object-oriented design principles.
- Communicate clearly and effectively about technical topics.
- Bring an enthusiastic, empathetic, and collaborative approach to multifunctional projects.
- Have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience or skills.
- Preferred: interest in using Swift to improve the security of operating-system libraries and services.
- Preferred: experience optimizing runtime performance of system libraries or compute-intensive software.
