Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, implement, document, and support testing of software subsystems and modules.
- Develop and review fault-isolation and troubleshooting procedures and recommend design improvements.
- Perform reliability analysis, trend analysis, root-cause analysis, FMEA, and associated metrics and database maintenance.
- Lead the FRACAS engineering process and coordinate reliability-related issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot and debug software on target hardware and in simulation environments.
- Review customer specifications and requirements and develop designs supporting technical and cost objectives.
- Provide design budget, cost, and schedule input; evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
- Support design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture requirements and develop prototypes to reduce development risks.
- Support product releases, proposals, engineering and customer meetings, and technical assistance for engineers and support personnel.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in programming and agile development.
- Proficiency in at least one of C, C++, Ada, Java, or Tcl/Tk, with willingness to learn the full language mix.
- Familiarity with Git, version control, collaborative development workflows, configuration management tools, and Avaya/IP call-processing technology.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging software on target hardware and in simulation environments.
- Familiarity with estimating, measuring, and optimizing software performance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
