Responsibilities
- Develop kernel modules or features for AI-native database systems.
- Solve unique, large-scale, highly complex cloud infrastructure problems.
- Partner with PMs and engineers across teams to build backend support for AI-native database service products.
- Participate in technical discussions related to the team’s product and engineering work.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field.
- Knowledge of database kernels, distributed systems, query processing and optimization, and multithreaded programming.
- Experience coding in C/C++, Golang, Java, or Python.
- Preferred: software engineering experience from internships, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
- Preferred: experience with open-source systems such as Faiss, Milvus, DuckDB, ClickHouse, TiKV, or RocksDB.
- Preferred: publications at top-tier conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, MLSys, or ICDE.
- Preferred: familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure database and AI integration strategies.
- Preferred: contributions to RAG, memory-augmented models, or self-tuning database components.
