Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize large neural network models and scalable training pipelines.
- Profile and optimize compute, memory, and I/O performance across GPU workloads.
- Design and implement distributed training across multi-GPU and multi-node configurations.
- Build and maintain core ML infrastructure for training, evaluation, inference, and deployment.
- Partner with ML Scientists to translate research into reproducible, production-grade systems.
- Contribute to architectural and algorithmic decisions and resolve numerical, performance, and reliability issues.
- Establish engineering practices for research code and track relevant advances in ML systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Industry experience as an ML or research engineer working on large neural network training.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and deep expertise in PyTorch or equivalent modern ML frameworks.
- Hands-on experience training large neural networks at scale, including distributed training frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience profiling and optimizing GPU workloads.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based ML infrastructure and containerized environments.
- Experience turning research code from prototypes into robust, reusable infrastructure.
- Bonus: CUDA or Triton kernel development, FlashAttention-style attention implementations, foundation models for biology, vision, or language, or contributions to open-source ML frameworks.
