Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and refine comprehensive manual, functional, backend, and regression test suites.
  • Investigate complex production incidents as the primary point of contact, analyzing logs, FIX messages, network behavior, infrastructure, application workflows, and data flows.
  • Conduct pre-market system health checks during onboarding and provide standby escalation support after onboarding.
  • Build scripts and small utility applications for log parsing, data generation, message injection, and testing-process improvements.
  • Analyze system performance, distributed component interactions, race conditions, database execution, network latency, and application processing.
  • Master FIX message flows and diagnose order routing, execution behavior, sequence gaps, resend requests, and custom user-defined tags.
  • Test and document upgrade and rollback processes, version dependencies, and after-hours deployments.
  • Create technical documentation, system architecture and data-flow materials, user guides, release notes, and process mappings.
  • Support technical client onboarding, FIX certification testing, client workflow configuration, and internal support-team training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial markets, trading systems, or enterprise financial technology.
  • Expert-level knowledge of financial workflows, trading systems, and FIX message analysis.
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed client/server architectures using custom or proprietary TCP/IP protocols.
  • Ability to navigate legacy architectures such as Delphi, C++, or older Java systems.
  • Practical experience with Windows Server, Windows administrative tools, service management, and file-system navigation.
  • Experience with networking, infrastructure, system integration troubleshooting, SQL databases, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Batch, or comparable scripting and data-manipulation tools.
  • Experience creating professional technical documentation, user guides, release notes, and process maps.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate technical concepts clearly, and remain composed during high-stakes incidents.
