Responsibilities
- Develop robotic solutions for manipulating biology tools and scientific equipment.
- Implement motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms for collision avoidance in complex, dynamic environments.
- Use computer vision to work with laboratory consumables and equipment.
- Integrate, test, and debug software in simulation and on physical robots.
- Collaborate with partner scientists at customer laboratories to identify pain points, develop solutions, and guide implementation and deployment.
- Design for robustness, performance, simplification, and scalability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing and building algorithms for robotics systems.
- Experience or familiarity with robot arm manipulators and robotics manipulation.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Relevant experience in motion planning, trajectory optimization, kinematics, dynamics, or control.
- Experience with production software engineering tools and best practices.
- BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with robotic simulation systems such as PyBullet or MuJoCo is a bonus.
- Experience in laboratory or manufacturing robotics, software communication protocols, or shipped hardware products is a bonus.
