Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Rust and Java code for low-latency application frameworks and event-sourcing systems.
  • Build and support algorithmic trading utilities, including market-data replay, backtesting, and simulation tools.
  • Lead the integration and deployment of new functions and products while improving engineering processes.
  • Analyze business and system processes and industry standards to define solutions to complex problems.
  • Design, assess, and tune system performance for response times in the 10–100 microsecond range.
  • Consult with end users, contribute to system architecture, and communicate with senior leaders and external parties.
  • Mentor junior developers and less experienced senior Java developers.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and UML sequence diagrams when needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in application development.
  • In-depth experience with algorithmic trading application development, preferably in low-latency environments.
  • Detailed experience handling market data and associated technologies such as time-series databases and KDB.
  • Strong modern Java, JVM, Linux, system-call, kernel, TCP/IP networking, and kernel-bypass knowledge.
  • Experience with performance assessment and targeted tuning, application frameworks, and event-sourcing systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, development, communication, and consensus-building skills.
  • Background in C++ is desirable.
