Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, optimize, and review distributed-system components for scalability, resiliency, operability, and large-scale data processing.
- Build fault-tolerant functionality using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented principles.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests for Object Storage Service features.
- Create and maintain alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, operational procedures, automation scripts, and troubleshooting tools.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and contribute to root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, remediation plans, compliance standards, and documentation practices in multi-tenant cloud environments.
- Maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation for cloud infrastructure changes, patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Track timelines, prioritize work, collaborate across teams, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Hands-on expertise and passion for distributed systems, large-scale storage, and highly available services.
- Strong coding ability and familiarity with distributed systems.
- Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant, and operable system components.
- Ability to develop performance, load, functional, and failure-oriented tests and operational tooling.
- Ability to apply advanced security controls, including encryption and access controls, in multi-tenant environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage timelines with limited supervision, solve standard and non-standard problems, and continuously learn.
- Ability to work onsite at Oracle’s Nashville, Tennessee location.
