Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend features using C#/.NET or TypeScript.
  • Develop React and TypeScript frontend components and screens from tickets or designs through merged pull requests.
  • Help develop data pipelines that decode device telemetry and calculate engineering values.
  • Write and run automated tests alongside production code.
  • Participate in code reviews as both an author and reviewer.
  • Deploy work through CI/CD pipelines and develop understanding of cloud environments and infrastructure.
  • Investigate and fix defects in the running platform with increasing independence.
  • Contribute to design discussions, stand-ups, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Around two to three years of commercial software development experience, or a comparable track record through an apprenticeship, placement year, bootcamp followed by real delivery, or substantial open-source work.
  • Solid grounding in at least one modern programming language, ideally C# or TypeScript; Java, Go, and Python are also considered transferable.
  • Working understanding of web applications, including HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, and databases.
  • Comfort with Git and pull-request workflows.
  • Some experience writing automated tests and understanding their purpose.
  • Clear written communication and willingness to ask for help when needed.
  • A genuine interest in cloud engineering; prior Azure experience is not required.
  • Preferred but non-required experience includes Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, React or another component framework, SQL, KQL, Docker, or containers.
  • A degree in computing, engineering, physics, or mathematics is a nice-to-have but is not required.
