Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and operate production AI features used by multiple teams at Amazon scale.
  • Deliver maintainable, scalable, performant, and reliable end-to-end software solutions.
  • Build personalized recommendations, relevance explanations, and knowledge-driven features using LLMs and generative AI.
  • Collaborate with Product and Science teams to define experiences, run experiments, and iterate based on data.
  • Define measurement strategies, analytics events, and experiment configurations to track engagement and retention.
  • Make sound technical decisions in ambiguous problem spaces and contribute to architecture and system design.
  • Mentor junior developers and advocate for engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience contributing to or designing the architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience with experimentation, A/B testing, analytics instrumentation, and metrics-driven iteration.
  • Preferred: experience with AI/ML integration and generative AI applications.
  • Preferred: experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.
