Responsibilities
- Own and build complex frontend surfaces including dashboards, resource explorers, workflow editors, experiment views, model-serving interfaces, project workspaces, and administrative consoles.
- Design and ship interaction models for ambiguous product problems without relying on finished mockups.
- Build data-dense and real-time interfaces for clusters, nodes, GPUs, workloads, logs, events, quotas, experiments, and deployments.
- Create interactive developer tools such as browser terminals, YAML/configuration editors, workflow visualizations, model playgrounds, notebook flows, and debugging interfaces.
- Define frontend state architecture for server state, local state, optimistic updates, background refresh, asynchronous operations, and long-running workflows.
- Own and evolve the design system, including reusable components, layout primitives, tokens, interaction patterns, and typed contracts.
- Shape multi-tenant user experiences involving projects, organizations, clusters, permissions, roles, and resource boundaries.
- Partner with backend and platform engineers on API contracts, event models, pagination, filtering, workflow state machines, and product semantics.
- Improve frontend performance through profiling, virtualization, performance budgets, bundle discipline, and rendering strategies for large datasets.
- Establish end-to-end coverage, frontend observability, error monitoring, test strategy, and release discipline.
- Review code, mentor engineers, and establish frontend engineering standards.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience, including at least 4 years building production frontend applications.
- Deep knowledge of React, including hooks, component architecture, rendering behavior, memoization, state ownership, and performance profiling.
- Strong TypeScript experience across UI components, API contracts, shared libraries, schemas, and application state.
- Experience building complex, interaction-heavy products such as IDEs, workflow builders, graph editors, terminals, monitoring products, analytics consoles, infrastructure dashboards, or collaborative editors.
- Ability to design workflows and interaction models starting from product problems rather than only implementing predefined designs.
- Strong experience with asynchronous state, WebSockets, server-sent events, polling, background jobs, live status updates, cancellation, retries, reconnects, and partial failure.
- Experience building data-dense interfaces involving filtering, sorting, pagination, virtualization, large tables, timelines, charts, logs, or event streams.
- Experience building or significantly evolving a design system used by other engineers.
- Strong API design instincts and ability to work with backend engineers to improve frontend experiences through better contracts.
- Experience improving end-to-end testing, continuous integration, monitoring, performance measurement, or frontend reliability practices.
- Comfort with cloud-native concepts including clusters, pods, deployments, namespaces, GPUs, jobs, logs, metrics, and RBAC.
- Fluency with agentic coding tools.
- Preferred experience with developer tools, cloud consoles, observability products, infrastructure platforms, Monaco Editor, xterm.js, React Flow or similar graph/canvas libraries, high-frequency charts, log viewers, terminal emulators, workflow editors, accessibility, keyboard-heavy interfaces, Kubernetes, MLflow, Argo Workflows, Ray, or Prometheus.
