Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools, operational APIs, telemetry, dashboards, and automation for reliable and efficient system management.
- Implement service instrumentation, improved logging, and other solutions that enhance system reliability and observability.
- Use automation and orchestration platforms to reduce manual activity and operational toil.
- Participate in live incident resolution and post-mortem analysis, including developing remediation strategies.
- Drive reliability and observability initiatives and embed best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain and administer monitoring and analytics toolsets.
- Collaborate with IT Operations to support critical tooling and mentor colleagues on new technologies and practices.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages including Python, Golang, and JavaScript.
- Excellent knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including creating and managing Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.
- Knowledge of modern software development techniques and lifecycles.
- Knowledge of contemporary observability tools and practices, including Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
- Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and system management.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Prior experience working in a large-scale, 24/7 enterprise where uptime and stability are critical.
- Hands-on experience using LLM platforms and coding assistants to improve productivity and quality, including integrating AI-driven telemetry for observability, predictive insights, and root-cause analysis.
