Responsibilities
- Develop vehicle communication requirements and manage the sourcing, engineering, and development of communication solutions.
- Create and maintain CAN vehicle communication database (.DBC) files and diagnostic content (.CDD) files.
- Design and develop AUTOSAR-based serial communication protocols, configurations, ECU services, and interface layers.
- Develop bootloader software interfaces, ECU requirements, and interfaces to cybersecurity modules.
- Work with vendors on UDS, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, SPI, and LIN protocol requirements for prototype and production ECUs.
- Define fault-code management strategies and implement and validate UDS diagnostic services for CAN-based modules.
- Maintain vehicle communication interface specifications, communication matrices, ECU extract files, and serial communication databases.
- Support requirements management, interface definition, system integration, verification, validation, homologation, and traceability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with vehicle network architectures, ECU communication strategies, diagnostics integration, automotive communication protocols, ISO standards, and end-to-end communication protection.
- 5+ years of experience developing automotive embedded software for ECU diagnostics, bootloaders, software flashing, FOTA updates, and cybersecurity features.
- 3+ years of experience with automotive development, diagnostics, and validation tools such as Vector tools, Vehicle Spy, ETAS tools, Wireshark, and EOL test platforms.
- 3+ years of experience developing diagnostic services, device-control functions, fault management, calibration, and ECU software update solutions.
- 3+ years of experience with DBC authoring, CDD-based diagnostic content management, and vehicle network configuration and integration.
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience involving requirements management, interface definition, integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience delivering software in compliance with ISO 26262 Functional Safety Standards and ASPICE.
- Preferred experience includes automotive cybersecurity, ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 24089, AUTOSAR, multi-core pre-emptive RTOS, C/C++, Python, CAN Network Management, and vehicle power moding.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup and new-model-launch environment, proficiency with Microsoft Office, willingness to travel up to 20%, and ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform extended standing, walking, and repetitive tasks.
