Responsibilities
- Design and deliver open source software operations code in Python and Golang.
- Work across the Linux stack, including the kernel, networking, storage, and applications.
- Develop high-quality open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
- Improve operations code packages and Ubuntu through robust design, documentation, testing, and performance.
- Rethink open source operations for customers and the open source community.
- Coach and develop colleagues and help build a healthy, collaborative engineering culture.
- Travel globally up to 10% of the time for internal and external events.
Requirements
- Passion for Python development.
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Understanding of reliable operations in an agile environment.
- Strong organization and commitment to timely, high-quality software delivery.
- A university degree in Computer Science or a related software engineering field is a bonus, not a stated requirement.
- Golang programming skills are a bonus.
