Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the native Android game store client using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Implement browsing, categories, search, filtering, game details, accounts, libraries, ratings, and reviews.
- Build download, installation, update, resumable-download, signature-verification, and version-management functionality for large game files.
- Implement white-label theming and multi-channel builds using Gradle product flavors or runtime configuration.
- Optimize startup time, crash rate, binary size, memory usage, and overall application performance.
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA teams and contribute to technical design and code reviews.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and enforce coding standards.
- Work on-site; remote work is not available.
Requirements
- Computer Science or related degree.
- 5+ years of native Android development experience.
- Strong Kotlin skills, including coroutines and Flow, or equivalent mastery of Java.
- Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and familiarity with traditional Android View/XML development.
- Familiarity with Android Jetpack components including ViewModel, Lifecycle, Room, Navigation, and Hilt.
- Familiarity with Retrofit, OkHttp, Coil or Glide, and local storage.
- Experience with Gradle white-label, multi-tenant, multi-flavor builds, signing, and version management.
- Understanding of Android installation mechanisms, permissions, and behavioral changes across OS versions.
- Knowledge of coding standards, unit testing, and GitLab or GitHub version control.
- Proficiency with AI coding tools.
- Game industry experience.
- Preferred experience with the Chinese gaming industry, game development or publishing, major Chinese gaming platforms, Unity or Unreal game packages, large asset bundles, and game SDK integrations such as login, purchases, advertising, analytics, and real-name verification.
