Base Salary
$144k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, enhance, and maintain components of the InterSystems IRIS database engine and embedded ObjectScript language.
- Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable C code with some C++.
- Analyze and optimize algorithms and data structures for memory and modern storage efficiency.
- Address concurrency control and memory-ordering issues involving shared-memory structures.
- Enhance interactions with operating systems and hardware devices and maintain database management APIs.
- Debug complex problems and develop and run test code.
- Create internal design documentation and guide external documentation.
- Stay current with operating-system, storage, and database technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing low-level system code for mission-critical software.
- Experience with C or C++; assembly experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, concurrency control, compiler and interpreter methods, and software engineering techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to create robust software for high-stakes deployments and collaborate effectively.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools and critically evaluating AI-generated output.
- Ability to learn, evaluate, adapt to, propose, and implement AI-augmented workflows.
