Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of squad features and modules from requirements clarification through design, build, release, and production support.
- Build production software across the full stack, including responsive user interfaces, backend services, APIs, data models, and background workflows.
- Prepare low-level designs and contribute to system design discussions using object-oriented principles and established design patterns.
- Develop reusable components and libraries while improving performance, reliability, maintainability, and technical debt.
- Add logging and monitoring, respond to incidents, debug production issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement lasting fixes.
- Maintain meaningful tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD and deployment practices.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing and code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering leadership to clarify scope, identify technical risks, and make pragmatic trade-offs.
- Build proofs of concept and provide recommendations on new approaches and technologies.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience building and running production software used by real customers.
- Experience delivering features end to end, including design, build, test, ship, and production support.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and databases.
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern backend language and framework and one modern frontend framework.
- Experience with responsive, accessible, performance-conscious user interfaces, backend services, APIs, relational databases, and at least one NoSQL or caching layer.
- Working familiarity with queues, background jobs, or messaging systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, source control, CI/CD pipelines, authentication, authorization, and responsible customer-data handling.
- Experience working across the stack, learning new languages and tools, and taking responsibility for production performance and reliability.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and independent collaboration skills.
- B.Tech, M.Tech, or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent depth built through hands-on system building.
- Preferred: experience with startups and larger process-driven companies, multi-tenant SaaS, regulated domains, microservices, event-driven or high-throughput systems, test-driven development, mentoring, open-source contributions, technical writing, or conference and meetup talks.
