Responsibilities
- Design and implement Crunchyroll web application features and improvements using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Own well-scoped projects from technical design through testing and release.
- Improve web-client performance, reliability, and developer experience.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform engineering teams on requirements and technical approaches.
- Contribute through code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Identify technical debt and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Mentor newer engineers through pairing, code review, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript with 0–2 years of industry experience, or strong fundamentals in another language and readiness to work primarily with these technologies.
- Ability to break down well-defined problems and deliver working solutions with minimal guidance.
- Experience building or contributing to web applications used by real users.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Production experience with Vue.js, React, or similar frameworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with web performance profiling, accessibility, and responsive design at scale is preferred.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog is preferred.
- Exposure to server-side rendering, edge delivery, or content delivery patterns is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and feature flag infrastructure is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
